Hello Lindsey, I just wanted to take a moment to convey to you exactly how impressed I am with not only the breeding program you have developed with Starberry Sport Morgans in general, but in particular with one amazing boy that I am now lucky enough to own, Starberry Spellbound aka “Merlin”. This young 3 year old gelding came to us this past summer and he is nothing short of spellbinding! Beyond his beautiful coloring and hallmark Morgan conformation, this young horse possesses exceptional bloodlines and demeanor, with personality traits characterizing a confident horse very in tune with his human counterparts. We could not be more pleased with his quick ability to learn and the eager manner in which he engages with us. Forever bound to bring us joy and likely as many accomplishments as we seek, we are forever thankful that we have been blessed with Merlin in our lives and for all of the support from first discussions through point of sale and beyond that you have provided us and continue to provide us. It is clear that you care about each and every horse that is part of the Starberry name for their lifetime. Thank you for all that you do for these amazing equines and the Morgan breed. I would recommend you a million times over to anyone looking for a high quality horse from a high quality breeder.
“Wait you bought ANOTHER Morgan?” Great question so happy you asked. I pretty much woke up one morning last August and decided I wanted to buy my first young/baby horse as is my way. I’m an amateur, I can be easily intimidated, and I really am only interested in dressage so I researched breeds to look into what best fit my future goals. My first horse was a MorganX so I thought a Morgan would be a good choice. I started doing searches on DreamHorse (just to show my age) and came across an ad I couldn’t stop thinking about. It was for a yearling Morgan mare that was a funny color (also a bucket list item). I didn’t reach out to the seller at that time because, well, my husband said no more horses. I checked to see if this ad was up every single day. Every. Single. Day. for 8 weeks while also browsing all the Morgan FB groups. In this time I spoke to a very nice breeder who further solidified that I definitely wanted a Morgan, but she didn’t have anything in my price range. However I will always appreciate the time she spent talking to me. Cut to October. I’m scrolling through Facebook procrastinating work, and out of the clear blue sky an opportunity to buy the funny colored yearling whose DreamHorse ad I check every single day is offered for sale in my modest price range. The stars align, Sparky says yes let’s do it and I FINALLY reach out to the breeder. If you haven’t guessed it already, this is Starberry Coraline from Lindsey Berry’s Starberry Sport Morgans. Two weeks later we head to Ballston Spa to Starberry Sport Morgans to pick up Coraline. This is my first yearling, so I had NO idea what to expect, but let me tell you what I got. A yearling who could be tied, have all 4 feet picked up, very very very halter broke, quiet to lead, good for the farrier, quiet to brush, quiet to blanket and very respectful overall. Did I mention she got right into the trailer to head home I did right? Once home, we started baby work using the TRT Method and Coraline continues to be a quick study. She tries to please every step of the way with everything I throw at her. I like Coraline SO much and am so excited about THAT future, I decided to add to the bunch. Starberry Spiced Bourbon is the same age as Coraline and is also from Starberry Sport Morgans. I have not had her a terribly long time, and have given her some time to settle in, but while she has a different personality than Coraline, she has received the same early handling and training. Why do I need TWO two year olds? Well it’s simple I am loving the breed. I am loving the dreams, but also I LOVE the two horses I got from Starberry Sport Morgans. Do I need two? Of course not, but I believe in fate and I believe it was meant to be. Also I’ll be dead in 60 years and I definitely won’t be on my deathbed wishing I HADN’T got the horse. Sure they’re cute and they’re pretty and all that, but these are two GOOD horses. Lindsey calls it the “Morgan brain” and while I agree with her 100 percent I think she’s selling her role in these fantastic mares very very short. I want to call it the “STARBERRY Morgan Brain”. If you are looking for a horse and maybe dipping your toe into young/baby horses I would absolutely recommend Starberry Sport Morgans. If you are a seasoned rider who has done this before I would definitely recommend Starberry Sport Morgans. Lindsey goes full circle with her babies and if you are a lucky owner of one of her horses you get to reap the benefits of that early training for years to come.
