Testimonials

Horses from our program have sold all over the country, including Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Virginia, Kentucky, New York, Vermont, North Carolina, Connecticut, Michigan, Maryland, Colorado, New Jersey, Montana, and New Hampshire!

Hello Lindsey, I just wanted to take a moment to convey to you exactly how impressed I am with not only the breeding program you have developed with Starberry Sport Morgans in general, but in particular with one amazing boy that I am now lucky enough to own, Starberry Spellbound aka “Merlin”. This young 3 year old gelding came to us this past summer and he is nothing short of spellbinding! Beyond his beautiful coloring and hallmark Morgan conformation, this young horse possesses exceptional bloodlines and demeanor, with personality traits characterizing a confident horse very in tune with his human counterparts. We could not be more pleased with his quick ability to learn and the eager manner in which he engages with us. Forever bound to bring us joy and likely as many accomplishments as we seek, we are forever thankful that we have been blessed with Merlin in our lives and for all of the support from first discussions through point of sale and beyond that you have provided us and continue to provide us. It is clear that you care about each and every horse that is part of the Starberry name for their lifetime. Thank you for all that you do for these amazing equines and the Morgan breed. I would recommend you a million times over to anyone looking for a high quality horse from a high quality breeder.

“Wait you bought ANOTHER Morgan?” Great question so happy you asked. I pretty much woke up one morning last August and decided I wanted to buy my first young/baby horse as is my way. I’m an amateur, I can be easily intimidated, and I really am only interested in dressage so I researched breeds to look into what best fit my future goals. My first horse was a MorganX so I thought a Morgan would be a good choice. I started doing searches on DreamHorse (just to show my age) and came across an ad I couldn’t stop thinking about. It was for a yearling Morgan mare that was a funny color (also a bucket list item). I didn’t reach out to the seller at that time because, well, my husband said no more horses. I checked to see if this ad was up every single day. Every. Single. Day. for 8 weeks while also browsing all the Morgan FB groups. In this time I spoke to a very nice breeder who further solidified that I definitely wanted a Morgan, but she didn’t have anything in my price range. However I will always appreciate the time she spent talking to me. Cut to October. I’m scrolling through Facebook procrastinating work, and out of the clear blue sky an opportunity to buy the funny colored yearling whose DreamHorse ad I check every single day is offered for sale in my modest price range. The stars align, Sparky says yes let’s do it and I FINALLY reach out to the breeder. If you haven’t guessed it already, this is Starberry Coraline from Lindsey Berry’s Starberry Sport Morgans. Two weeks later we head to Ballston Spa to Starberry Sport Morgans to pick up Coraline. This is my first yearling, so I had NO idea what to expect, but let me tell you what I got. A yearling who could be tied, have all 4 feet picked up, very very very halter broke, quiet to lead, good for the farrier, quiet to brush, quiet to blanket and very respectful overall. Did I mention she got right into the trailer to head home I did right? Once home, we started baby work using the TRT Method and Coraline continues to be a quick study. She tries to please every step of the way with everything I throw at her. I like Coraline SO much and am so excited about THAT future, I decided to add to the bunch. Starberry Spiced Bourbon is the same age as Coraline and is also from Starberry Sport Morgans. I have not had her a terribly long time, and have given her some time to settle in, but while she has a different personality than Coraline, she has received the same early handling and training. Why do I need TWO two year olds? Well it’s simple I am loving the breed. I am loving the dreams, but also I LOVE the two horses I got from Starberry Sport Morgans. Do I need two? Of course not, but I believe in fate and I believe it was meant to be. Also I’ll be dead in 60 years and I definitely won’t be on my deathbed wishing I HADN’T got the horse. Sure they’re cute and they’re pretty and all that, but these are two GOOD horses. Lindsey calls it the “Morgan brain” and while I agree with her 100 percent I think she’s selling her role in these fantastic mares very very short. I want to call it the “STARBERRY Morgan Brain”. If you are looking for a horse and maybe dipping your toe into young/baby horses I would absolutely recommend Starberry Sport Morgans. If you are a seasoned rider who has done this before I would definitely recommend Starberry Sport Morgans. Lindsey goes full circle with her babies and if you are a lucky owner of one of her horses you get to reap the benefits of that early training for years to come.

Lindsey Berry, at Starberry Sport Morgans, is the consummate match-maker. She has an amazing grasp of pedigrees, and sees connections and great crosses like the Magnus Carlsen of horse breeding. But that’s not all. She also has super sharp powers of observation when it comes to humans, and I was the extremely grateful beneficiary of her keen eye on February 17 th , 2023, when I purchased CM Sunday Kode. Every year on my birthday, at the urging of my wonderful older brother, I, “Do whatever I darn well please.” With a mid-January birthday, it’s always a challenge and an adventure. This year, my heart’s desire was to spend an hour in the car and go meet Lindsey Berry in Ballston Spa, NY, and see the lovely Morgan Sport Horses in her barn. So, I called her up, and she enthusiastically and warmly welcomed me to come. As it turns out, and one learns this in the first few minutes of meeting Lindsey, that warmth and enthusiasm are who she is – along with incredible intelligence, honesty and integrity, and remarkable patience. Lindsey took me on a tour that day: She knew each and every horse in her barn as an individual, and loved and was devoted to every one of them. I wasn’t in the market for a baby horse; I just wanted to treat myself to meeting some very fine Morgan horses for my birthday. But I met Kaleb. And I was in love. I didn’t even fully realize it in the moment, but Lindsey saw it… So, when, after a couple of days of obsessively wondering, “What’s Kaleb doing today?” I got in touch with Lindsey to ask a few more questions about him, she was not surprised at all. From that day forward, through the whole process of making dozens of decisions and practical plans (like deciding on a trainer, transporting to the trainer’s barn and for his PPE, arranging his gelding and aftercare back at Starberry – and the really big decisions, like which font to use for the name plate on his halter, and which color saddle pads to get…), Lindsey was right there, never once pushing, but always positive, generous, kind, skilled, knowledgeable. And mostly – and always – patient. I’m so grateful to Lindsey and Starberry Sport Morgans for being totally dedicated to the Morgan breed; making sound, confident, capable, and well-loved horses. Kaleb’s trainer says he has been a pleasure to work with and around from his first day in the barn. Kaleb is able to be the best expression of his smart, curious, athletic, affectionate (and I should mention gorgeous) self because of the beautiful and wise start that Lindsey gave him. Kaleb will mostly do dressage, but he’ll also pop over jumps, explore with me on the trails, and eventually teach my grandchildren how to be with horses. He’s ours now, and we love him to pieces. Thank you, Lindsey!

I first met Lindsey Berry of Starberry Sport Morgans at Dressage At Devon 2019, where her homebred filly won Reserve Grand Champion Pony Filly of the Breed Show. I was gratified that a fellow Sport Morgan owner & breeder had the confidence to show her stock amongst the “normal” Sport Horse breeds and win. Lindsey does a lot of winning with her Morgan herd. Her babies are the best behaved, and Morgans are fortunate that she has chosen them to promote. 5 stars.

I was very casually looking for my next dressage partner. I really wanted a Morgan so had narrowed all my searches. That’s when I found an ad for Starberry Coraline. I knew from the first time I saw the ad she had to be mine. Looking at her breeder’s website, all the YouTube content, and the adorable Facebook photos of all the horses growing up and being horses, I knew this breeder was the real deal. I reached out to Lindsey and after a very simple, straight forward sale process, I picked up Coraline on a cold October morning and brought her home. Coraline has been home for 5 months and I can say she is so well mannered and so ready for next steps at her age. She picks up her feet, is very very halter broke, ties AND enjoys being groomed! Everyone who meets her only has complimentary things to say about her general manner and what she knows already. Lindsey does a wonderful job with her young ones and babies and I hope to purchase another before the end of this year! I’m sold on the Starberry way of life!

I recently bought a three year old stud colt from Lindsey. He is absolutely amazing! He has had a wonderful start and is so smart and willing to learn. All of her horses are unbelievably safe and kind. Lindsey is amazing and I am so glad that she was able to match me with my heart horse💕 I cannot thank her enough!!! “Otto” formerly known as “Flash” has become the barn favorite and is settling into his new home so well 🦄

On June 13, 2018 I had to put my Morgan down. As I was laying in bed that night I was scrolling through Facebook I came across this ad. I opened it and he was a two year old Rocky Mountain/Morgan cross. His name is Starberry Crimson Thunder aka Zeus. Well, his birthday is the same as the day I had to put my Morgan down and two weeks after that was our daughter’s birthday on the 22nd. Long story short, we brought our daughter to meet him and they were a perfect match. She sat on him in his stall without a halter or saddle lol. He followed her like a puppy. Lindsey even lunged him, and he stopped at our daughter Paislee every time. So we went back up on the 4th of July and bought him without Paislee knowing. To this day they are great. They show right now! I keep up regularly to share their success with Lindsey, who’s become a good friend. I highly very very highly recommend Starberry horses. They are perfect all around 😍 ❤ and if I could I would buy another.
